Hi! I’ve been playing with clay since 2013. After graduating with an Industrial Design degree from Leeds Beckett University, UK, I moved to Toronto, Canada where I worked as an industrial design and graphic designer. I always loved making things, taking things apart to see how they worked and then trying, not always successfully, to put them back together. After moving to Vancouver, I took a pottery class and, like many other potters, immediately fell in love with it. There’s something incredibly special about taking a piece of soft clay in your hands and feeling the texture of the material, being able to manipulate it into a different shape, or putting it on the wheel and transforming into something that ressembles a pot. It’s like magic!

I continued taking classes and experimenting with several types of clay, different types of firing, learning about the chemistry of glazes and different techniques for manipulating clay, including the process of slipcasting. Maybe because of my background in design, I always wanted to make functional pots, something that someone could use in their daily life, a pot that one could hold and enjoy using. As a bit of a foodie, I’m particularly interested in pots that can hold food or drinks.

I remember when I was in design school, wondering if a cup could bring someone happiness. Many years later, I’m trying to make it happen.
